In this new section of my Chris44g Erotica Boutique I will be highlighting and displaying some historical erotic art plus a little photography too of a fetish or kink nature that catches my eye. I may even add some of my own photographs if it’s commensurate with the narrative.

The composition ‘Reclining Odalisque’  by Guillaume Seignac with  it‘s emphasis on luxurious textures and carefully arranged elements, is reminiscent of a staged tableau, reflecting the social context of the artist and the leisure class of the late 19th century. 

Seignac's artistic technique highlights the amount of work and skill required to produce such quality works, reinforcing art as a luxurious status symbol for the rich.

‘The  Enchantress’ was painted in 1878 by Spanish painter Luis Ricardo Falero (1851-1896).

Bathing women are a constant theme in art with echoes through art history, from antiquity to the Renaissance. The art of bathing is associated with feminine purity, sensuality, and vulnerability. 

What’s a truly radical breakthrough about this painting from 1845 is that Courbet has for the first timeembraced the female body as it is, without idealization that was used previously in depicting the female form.

Kugelrunda is a legendary and extremely rare book of erotica first published around 1920 in Czechoslovakia.

 It contains about thirty incredible, very

racy erotic images featuring

voluptuous women, the work of an anonymous Bohemian artist.

An extraordinary collection of watercolors on cardboard that is truly astonishing.

The original issue has now disappeared, but luckily  a reprint was published by a German publisher S&K Ltd in 1983.

In the early 1980s a tiny publishing company based in London but with links to Nürnberg in Germany, S&K Ltd, published two illustrated books of erotica including this unique portfolio of paintings of large women enjoying sex.

 It was titled Kugelrunda, so was clearly intended mostly for sale in Germany, ‘runde Kugeln’ translating as ‘round spheres’. 

The brief introduction gave the source of the images as an unknown Bohemian  Czech artist working around 1920; there is nothing in the style to suggest otherwise.

Whoever created the images reproduced in Kugelrunde was no amateur; the observation and composition is excellent. And the participants, who must be based on real models, appear to be having a good time. This is a rare example of the positive early portrayal of more rotund women in modern times, though of course fat women were often worshipped in ancient cultures - a well fed woman was predicted as healthy, sexy and fertile.

Unfortunately the quality of the colour reproduction of the only surviving  printed portfolio is quite poor, so we shall never see them as they were originally created.
